Miss Blackburne's Class - 3B 2018 - 2019

Miss Blackburne

Welcome to Class 3B

Teacher: Miss Blackburne

Teaching Assistants: Miss Parker and Miss Ball

Class 3B has a very full and varied week as follows:

Homework - English, Maths and Spelling Homework is given out on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays. Our weekly spelling test will take place on Thursdays. Homework is part of the curriculum and supports learning and we appreciate all your efforts to help your child to complete the tasks set. If you require any additional information or support regarding homework then please make contact with me. Children are given homework relating to the children's learning across mathematics, writing and reading.

Reading Books - Children should read and have their Reading Record signed everyday. The children progress wonderfully when they are read with at home. We are focusing on comprehension skills and use of expression when reading aloud. Reading books should be brought into school daily.

Swimming: From Monday the 5th of March 2018 the children will be attending Swimming lessons at our local swimming baths. Therefore, every Monday the children will be expected to have the appropriate kit with them for swimming in school.

PE - We have our swimming lesson on a Monday afternoon and we have Gymnastics on a Thursday morning.  Please ensure that the children have their P.E kit ready on these days, all labelled in order to avoid lost property.

Topic - Each half term, we have a new and exciting topic, This half term we will be focussing on the whole school Asian Art project. This will develop our range of art skills and musical understanding. We can't wait to show the parents and friends of the school the work we have been creating. We will also explore different countries through the World Cup as part of our Geography development.

Our expectations are high and we strive to foster the development of the children through provision of a planned, engaging, stimulating, safe and secure environment which is structured with developmental needs in mind.  We also aim to stimulate emotional and spiritual growth. We are a class family and make sure we take care of each other in the classroom and out on the play ground.
