The children in Year 2 made a fantastic start planting in preparation for harvest. The good old Manchester weather appeared right on cue cutting the afternoon shorter than planned but children had a great time digging and planting new bulbs and flowers. We look forward to continuing the gardening soon. Thank you to all the parents who  came to support us, it is much appreciated.

The year 1 children have been out on the field planting a variety of different flowers in their very own planters! It was really fun weeding the planters, turning over the soil and planting our bulbs! A huge thank you to the parents who came to support our regrowth project! Now roll on summer so we can see our hard work pay off!

This morning, we had a lovely suprise from Year 1 and 2. They have been busy thinking of fantastic ideas to write their own stories. They have each written a book themselves, including illistrations, and asked if they could read them to Nursery and Reception. We really enjoyed hearing our partners stories and asked a few questions afterwards. Thank you for sharing!

Today, Just Youth helped us prepare to celebrate Advent. We discussed how during Advent we are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and how best to do this. Year 2 thought about how we can share love, peace, forgiveness and make time to pray. We really enjoyed today.

As part of our topic,Into the Woods, we have been looking at different versions of the traditional tale "Little Red Riding Hood." As you can see the pupils were very excited to witness a courtcase where Walter the Wolf was declaring that he was innocent. It was very exciting! By the end of the case a number of children believed that Walter was innocent. However, Little red Riding Hood won the case on the day by a few extra votes. Poor walter did put up a good fight but remains defeated and behind bars!

Durring this half term KS1 have been exploring our local area 'New Moston'.

As a part of this topic the children were asked to design their 'Dream Local Area'.

We were completely overwhelmed by the children's response to this project and the hard work whole families put in to creating their dream local area.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this project with the children!! We absolutely loved talking to the children about their projects and discovering what they would include in their 'Dream Local Area'.

Making Easter Cakes

Today the children had great fun making Easter cakes.

First we melted the cholocate and mixed in rice crispies to create a nest. After that, we added some chicks and eggs. 

What delicous cakes they were!

The children in year 2 showed a fantastic understanding of fractions by creating a Fractions Museum.

They were able to use a range of different objects to show 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 3/4.
