5W's

The 5W's are:

These are :

Welcome (Come) - Come together in Welcome.

Word (Talk) - Talk together as a word of God's community.

Worship (Pray) - We pray together as a worship community.

Witness (Work) - We look at our school mission statement and work together as a witness community.

Welfare (Walk) - Walk together as a welfare community.

Welcome

“Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you to the glory of God” Romans 15 v7

“The people of God... a most sure seed of unity, hope and salvation for the whole human race.”, CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, SECOND EDITION art 782

We are all welcome in God's name, at our school we strive to include everyone in our community and celebrate our diversities. We promote mutual respect to build self-esteem and everyone is valued.

Word

“All branches of knowledge are connected together because the subject matter of knowledge is intimately united in itself as being the acts and work of the Creator”

John Henry Newman

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

Jesus Christ is at the centre of everything we do. We celebrate the "Word of God" and this permeates throughout school life and live in the service of each other. The teaching and learning of Religious Studies is a main focus for the school and all pupils are encouraged to talk about and become engaged in the "Big Questions" in order to further their thinking and understanding.

Worship

"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deut. 6:5)

“But the hour is coming and is now here. When true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.”

John 4:23

We worship God throughout the school year. We also invite parents to our assemblies and collective worship sessions to help us share our faith with others.

Witness

“As the Father has sent me, so I send you” John 20:21

‘And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to the whole of creation.”’ Mark 16:15

God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is central to everything we do.

Welfare

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord...” 1 Cor 12 v 4-5
